How Much Does a Local SEO Audit Cost?

How Much Does a Local SEO Audit Cost?

Short answer: a local SEO audit from ADK SEO REV costs $500 to $1,500. Where you land in that range depends on your type of business, how many pages your website has, and how deep you want me to dig into your competitors.

Across the industry, audit prices run from free automated reports to several thousand dollars, so the number alone doesn’t tell you much. What matters is what you get for it. Here’s exactly what’s included in mine, how long it takes, and how pricing works for multiple locations and agencies.

What affects the price of a local SEO audit

Three things move the price from $500 toward $1,500:

  • Your type of business. A single-service business in a quiet market takes less digging than a business with many services in a crowded one.
  • The size of your website. A 10-page site is quicker to audit than a 150-page site with service pages, location pages and a blog.
  • How deep the competitor research goes. Some clients want a quick look at who’s beating them. Others want a full breakdown of what their top competitors are doing and what to take from it.

What’s included in the audit

The audit covers all three pieces of local SEO together:

  • Your Google Business Profile: categories, services, photos, posts, reviews, and anything that could be holding back your map rankings.
  • Your website: technical issues, content, location and service area pages, and how well your pages match what people search.
  • Your citations: directory listings, NAP consistency (name, address, phone), and duplicate or incorrect listings.

It also includes a UI/UX and conversion review, so you know not only why people aren’t finding you, but why some of the people who do find you aren’t calling.

For every issue, the report tells you what’s wrong, why it matters, how to fix it, and what it would cost to have me fix it. You can take that list and do the work yourself, hand it to someone else, or hire me for some or all of it.

How the audit works and how long it takes

  1. I run the audit. Most local audits are done within 3 days. The maximum is 5.
  2. You get a written report. You have up to 2 days to read through it with your team.
  3. We meet on Zoom. We go over the findings, answer your questions, and decide on next steps.

Pricing for multiple locations

  • One website, several Google Business Profiles: each additional profile adds $250.
  • Separate websites for each location: each website gets its own audit at full price.

Pricing for agencies

Agencies that want white-label audits for their clients get a custom plan priced on how many audits they expect to need. See my white-label SEO audit service for details.

Free 10-minute look vs. a paid audit

I offer a free 10-minute look at any local business’s website and profile. It will turn up the 2 or 3 core issues that need fixing first.

A paid audit goes much further. It gives you everything that needs fixing, why each item needs to be fixed, how to fix it, and what it would cost for me to fix each one. The free look tells you where it hurts. The audit gives you the full treatment plan.

Why cheap automated audits fall short

Most $100 audits and free “SEO score” reports are run straight out of SEO software. They spit out a long list of warnings with no explanation of what they mean, where to start, or which fix will get you results fastest. Many of those warnings don’t matter for a local business at all.

My audits go further, including UI/UX and conversion reviews, and every item comes ranked and explained in plain English.

Does the audit fee count toward monthly SEO?

No. The audit is a one-time cost and isn’t credited toward a monthly SEO plan. Plenty of clients take the report and run with it on their own, and that’s fine.

Signs it’s time for a local SEO audit

  • Your phone calls have dropped.
  • A competitor is suddenly outranking you.
  • You redesigned your website and lost rankings afterward.

If any of those sound familiar, an audit is the fastest way to find out why. A common cause is a profile or website that was never fully set up, which I cover in why your business isn’t showing up on Google Maps.
